My Story

Hi, I’m Laura Bonnell, a Fashion Design + Brand Consultant. My adventures in Fashion have taken me to London, New York, and now sunny Southern California.

Ever since I could thread a needle I’ve been designing and creating clothes. That dream to be a Fashion Designer took me to London to study a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design with Marketing, and then onto New York where I worked for Ralph Lauren.

It was during my time at Ralph Lauren that I discovered my passion for designing authentic, beautifully made garments. Through the guidance of my mentors at RL I learned how to work with vintage inspiration, how to design authentic and ‘on brand’ products, and how to always strive to create a superior product.

After my time in New York my Fashion Design journey continued back 'across the pond' in England where I worked for other large International brands including Jack Wills and Barbour, as well as smaller private labels including Atterley.

Much of my experience has centered around Brands looking to re-launch themselves or newly founded Brands looking to scale. I have worked closely with Founders and Boards of Directors, as well as managing Design and Development teams. Through these close collaborations I have been able to concept and execute authentic Lifestyle collections, launch new product category areas, and ensure a cohesive brand 'DNA' from initial concept, through to final product and presentation to the consumer.

My experience in the Fashion Industry has covered Designing and Developing Womenswear, Childrenswear and Accessories. Experience within these areas has included;

My roles have included managing Design and Development teams including Apparel Designers, Product Developers, Print and Textile Designers, Graphic Artists, Garment Technicians, Vendor development teams, Student Interns and Freelance support.

I’m passionate about preserving and supporting the work of specialist artisans in the Fashion Industry. I have an extensive network of Global & Domestic Vendors covering Apparel and Accessory manufacturing, as well as bespoke fabric and trim manufacturers and suppliers.

My entrepreneurial and creative spirit has always driven me to seek evolution and growth with the Brands I have been fortunate to work with. I work to ensure there is authenticity and consistency throughout a Brand's products, and Marketing strategy.
